Cushing disease & deramaxxQ: My 15 yr. old lab/pitbull mix has cushings disease. i wanted to try deramaxx for his arthritis. is there anything in the deramaxx that will harm him? A: Not really. just need to make sure you have liver/kidneys monitored periodically by your vet especially if he is on a drug to treat cushings like lysodren. also have to watch more closely for digestive side effects as dogs with cushings are more prone to stomach ulcers to begin with.

RednessQ: I have an 8 month old american bulldog/boxer mix that has slowly developed a redness under the hair on his back (he has white hair and it appears to be a red line on his back. i don't have the money for an immediate vet visit, and he doesn't seem to be terribly bothered by it, but i want to resolve this before it does become a problem. what would the signs be of mange? how would i determine if this was mange or an allergy? thank you for your help here.
